  • David S. Goodboy is a passionate collector of art and all things horological. He initially became obsessed with watches as a young teen, after learning (in the late ‘70s) how his Miami-based, Off Shore Racing uncle’s Rolex President fluctuated with the price of gold at the time.

  • This triggered a lifelong obsessions with horology and the commodity markets.

In his official capacity, he is an American financial writer, investor, and founder of the Palm Beach Hedge Fund Association, a leading trade group that has grown to nearly 2,000 members under his leadership.

A former partner at Eagles View Asset Management in Manhattan, he worked alongside renowned hedge fund manager Neal Berger and has been widely recognized in major media outlets including The Wall Street Journal, Vanity Fair, Newsweek, The New York Times, and The Washington Post.

Earlier in his career, he was a stock editor and journalist at Tradingmarkets.com, where his daily market commentary appeared on Yahoo Finance’s homepage and he conducted interviews with top hedge fund managers and economists. His experience spans contributions to E*Trade On-Air, ghostwriting for financial leaders, and authoring the well-reviewed book Beat The Machines on the challenges of high-frequency trading.

Featured in an internationally published book for his role as a “gatekeeper” at Donald Trump’s Mar-a-Lago, Goodboy now resides on Palm Beach Island with his wife, a former Canadian Central Banker and Finance Professor, and their two children, enjoying art, watches, and automobiles in his free time.

  • Daniel A. Spitz, a third-generation Master Watchmaker from New York, is a rare American figure in the closely guarded world of Swiss haute horlogerie.

  • Introduced to fine watchmaking as a child in his grandfather’s Catskill Mountains shop, Spitz pursued his passion by earning a degree from the Bulova School of Watchmaking and later graduating on scholarship from Switzerland’s prestigious WOSTEP under Antoine Simonin.

He went on to serve as head Master Watchmaker of Complications and instructor at Chopard’s North and South American service centers, and held similar positions with DeGrisogono and Leviev, while also creating training programs for other watchmakers. Including serving as head of Franck Muller service center and all watchmakers as well.

Over his career, he has run multiple restoration centers specializing inpre-1960s complicated timepieces, worked as a consultant and ghost builder for top brands, and contributed to calibers like Chopard’s LUC Quattro.

Recognized globally, Spitz has been nominated as a juror for the Grand Prix d’Horlogerie de Genève, the watchmaking world’s equivalent of the Oscars.

Outside of watchmaking, Dan is a co-founding member of the legendary heavy metal bands Anthrax and Overkill. He is one of the first ten artists chosen to have his music playing on a second planet with NASA. His music awakens the MARS Lunar Rover Curiosity.

Some of his accomplishments as a lead guitar player and songwriter are quite astonishing. He helped to create an entire genre of music called thrash metal at a time when there truly was only one genre simply called, heavy metal. He was also the first heavy metal artist to fuse hip-hop with heavy metal, first heavy metal band to record a rap song, first artist to co-headline a global arena tour of hip-hop and heavy metal (Public Enemy & Anthrax) and the first heavy metal band to produce a band sanctioned skateboard deck.

Dan Spitz personally hand built his own Marshall tube guitar amplifiers for the Anthrax reunion tour from bags of parts.
